Save The Trees


At a public hearing on Monday, April 20, Susan Bright and John Corry were two of many concerned Austin citizens who spoke out against the plan to remove tagged trees at Barton Springs pool.They join Austin News Real’s Pam Thompson to question the wisdom and motive for such invasive tree removal. Susan Bright is a poet, publisher of Plain View Press, and Save Barton Creek Association board member. John Corry has been an arborist for 25 years. Both are swimmers at Barton Springs.In October 2008, the City of Austin contracted the Davey Resource Group to evaluate 46 trees at the Barton Springs Pool.
