ICONMEDIA produces public affairs programs on environmental, labor, peace and social justice issues.
Stefan Wray and Pam Thompson started ICONMEDIA in 1999.
Both have worked in radio, as KOOP radio (91.7 FM) newscasters, as low-watt radio supporters, and producers for Free Speech Radio News.
In 2000, they helped start the Austin Independent Media Center.
Their first video documentary in 1998 focused on an unlicensed radio station in San Marcos, Texas.
In 2000, they became producers at Austin’s public access television, then called Austin Community Access Center, now Public Access Community Television.
Over the years, they’ve produced numerous programs for public access TV and have won several awards.
In 2002, Free Speech TV broadcast ICONMEDIA’s "United We Stand Against War: Voices For Peace And Justice.” In 2003, ICONMEDIA’s “Defying Gravity: Texans Take On Longhorn Pipeline” screened at independent theaters in Austin and Houston.
In 2006, Stefan and Pam completed a documentary called “Driving Sprawl” about Advanced Micro Device’s (AMD) move to southwest Austin over the Edward’s aquifer. It was published as part of a compilation DVD by the SOS Alliance.
